This popular fund raising event for Camp Trillium celebrates all things on
two wheels, has to date donated over $35,000 dollars to Camp Trillium. This year
it will touch down at the Picton Private Airport on the weekend of June 5 - 6.
Proudly presented by Toyota Truck, the Ride to Remember will boast the
return of the Factory Demo Rides with Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki
and BMW inviting licensed riders to sample their new 2004 motorcycle lineups
on the scenic roads around Prince Edward County.
Canadian Tire will be adding to the excitement this year as it presents the Picton
Vintage Motorcycle Show on Saturday morning hosted by the Quinte Section of
the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group.
Also on Saturday morning, catch the Solar System Show and Shine
sponsored by Solar System Home and Car Audio & Video. This year Solar System
owner Kevin Breau will be hosting his annual car show up at the Picton Airport.
He’ll be handing out the hardware along with dash plaques and cash awards.
Saturday afternoon at 1 pm the OPP Golden Helmets will be on hand to
perform for the first time at the Ride to Remember. This amazing team of two
wheeled police officers will perform a precision motorcycle display that can
best be described as the musical ride on Harleys. You have to see it to believe
it!
Saturday evening starting at 6 pm Currah’s Cafe and the Quinte Conservation
Authority will present a night of Bikes & Blues at the Picton Airport under
the monster Labatt Blue Party Tent. Special musical guests will be
the Downchild Blues Band. Tickets for this licensed event will go on sale
for $30.00 and will be available
at the door . Hockey great Steve Shutt will be on hand to MC the party
but be warned, tickets to this event are very limited and this Biker Blues Bash
will go on rain or shine!
Sunday the Factory Demo Rides will once again fire up at 10 am. Then at noon
motorcycle racing fans, young and old, are invited to enjoy the opening round in
the newly established National Super Moto Series.
Clinton Smout of the Canadian Motorcycle Training Services will be on
hand Sunday with his always popular Mini Bike Training Zone so there will
be plenty of fun for the whole family! Be sure to bring your appetite; The
Cherry Valley Lions Club and the Bloomfield A.O.T.S. will be on hand serving up
tasty treats while Currah’s Café will quench your thirst in the licensed Labatt
Blue Party Tent all weekend long!
